Dear family and friends,

I am going to India. I'm scared and I'm excited and I need some help.

I've wanted to go to India since I was a teenager, but I never really thought I'd have the chance. A couple of months ago I came across The Miracle Foundation, an organization that works with orphanages in India, partnering to help them become even better at serving the children in their care. I went to their website and saw that they allow normal people, just like me, to go on trips to India twice a year.

I care deeply for orphans, and for so long I had all of these plans on how I would serve them. But it feels like I've spent the past several years running into walls whenever I tried to do follow through on one of those plans. Eventually I wised up and (mostly) stopped obsessing over what I saw as failures and disappointments - all these dreams and plans that never came to fruition - and instead decided to quietly listen for what I should really be doing with my heart and my gifts.

And now I'm going to India with The Miracle Foundation to visit an orphanage. I'll let kids teach me how to play cricket. I'll paint a mural with them. I'll see how The Miracle Foundation partners with orphanages and shares knowledge and resources, coming alongside Indians doing the important, blessed work of caring for orphans. I'll come back and tell anyone who will listen about the kids I meet, and about how Americans can help those kids in healthy and effective ways.

However, to go to India and play cricket and come back and tell everyone I know about the kids I meet, I need your help. I need to raise a not-insignificant amount of money to pay for my trip. Will you please help me travel to India, and in doing so support the work of The Miracle Foundation?

Every donation is tax-deductible, and any amount will help.

If you'd like to keep up with me as I raise money and prepare for my trip, you can follow along on my blog at with2ys.com.

If you'd like more information, here's what The Miracle Foundation says about itself:

The Miracle Foundation (www.MiracleFoundation.org) is an established and trusted multinational nonprofit organization that empowers orphans to reach their full poential.  They believe children can - and should - be lifted out of the cycle of poverty.  And they believe in helping people help themselves.

The Miracle Foundation partners with struggling orphanages with a lot of heart, but not enough resources to feed, clothe, nourish, and educate their children.  Through years of experience, they have found that the most sutainable way to help people help themselves is to strengthen existing orphanages and transform them into loving homes where children can thrive.  This approach empowers caregivers and empowers orphans.

Thank you for supporting me in raising funds to visit the sweet children The Miracle Foundation cares for.

Namaste (is what I will be saying after I come back),

Hayley
